First day
My friend Libby March got the Concord Monitor photo internship after me and our time at the Monitor overlapped a few days in June. After her first day of work John and I invited her over to the house to welcome her to town. About five minutes after this photo was taken we went outside and saw smoke two houses down from ours. We grabbed our cameras and as we rounded the corner we could see a crowd starting to gather to watch the firefighters at work. A quiet night and suddenly spot news. Sometimes the job is like that.

The Great Lake State
After a year away and two internships I'm back in my native state working at the Midland Daily News just 30 miles away from where I grew up. It's good to be home.
